Fodor's Debuts Travel Ebooks

Fodors LLC, a subsidiary of Random House, Inc., announced the publication of 26 ebooks. The ebooks will feature full-color photos and navigation icons for each chapter; hotel and restaurant indexes and reviews; and pop-up pages with interesting tidbits, historical background, dining and lodging price charts. The ebooks will also provide up-to-date information on hotels, restaurants, nightlife, and exploring.

``Fodor's ebooks will offer travelers a dynamic new interactive ebook format,'' comments Bonnie Ammer, president and publisher of Fodors LLC. ``Our goal was to make the most of ebook technology. With Fodor's ebooks, travelers will be able to download entire books with ebook features unlike any others available to destinations worldwide on their PC, laptop, or handheld.''

Fodor's destination ebooks include titles on Aruba, Madrid, London, Paris, Santa Fe and Taos, Sydney, Washington D.C., New York City, and Istanbul. Each will retail for $8.95 and will be available in mid-July through on-line retailers that sell ebooks. Fodor's ebooks will be available in Adobe Acrobat ebook Reader, Microsoft Reader, and Palm Reader. Information about how to get a free download of Fodor's ebook New York City will be available through Fodors.com starting in mid-July.
