Zoom Media Group Launches Hispanic Men's Magazine

Zoom Media Group (ZMG) has announced the launch of Loft, a men's lifestyle magazine. ZMG develops editorial products and brands for the Latin America and US Hispanic markets. ZMG is led by Isaac Lee, former Editor-in-chief of Semana magazine and the Semana Group. ZMG publishes Poder and Loft magazines and is currently developing several other titles.

``Male readers (and the advertisers that want to reach them) have been ignored for too long by other publishers,'' commented Zoom Media Group's editor in chief Isaac Lee, ``with Loft we offer men the answer to their prayers -- great stories combined with fantastic pictures of the sexiest women in Latin America.'' Loft's first issue will appear on newsstands on September 20, 2001 in US Hispanic markets as well as in newsstands in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and throughout the rest of Latin America.

Loft will be customized for each of its major markets (US Hispanic, Mexico, Argentina/Chile and Colombia/Venezuela/Panama). Loft will initially be published on a bi-monthly basis and will have an ABC audited circulation of over 60,000 issues (20,000 for US Hispanic, 17,000 for Mexico, 14,000 for Colombia/Venezuela and Panama and 9,000 for Argentina/Chile). The magazine will be distributed through newsstands and paid subscriptions. The newsstand cover price will be $3.95 in the U.S., $25 pesos in Mexico, $7,500 pesos in Colombia and $6.00 pesos in Argentina, Bs 3,500 Bolivars in Venezuela. The cost of an annual subscription will be $12. The editorial team is headquartered in Miami with regional bureaus in Mexico City, Bogota and Buenos Aires.

In Loft's inaugural issue, Andahazi picks up where he left off with his controversial first novel, The Anatomist, and takes on the subject of ``pleasure and power''. New York Post police reporter Michele McPhee tells a story about how Miami's former top nightclub impresario, Chris Paciello, went from dating Nikki Taylor, Sofia Vergara and Madonna to turning state's witness and joining the witness protection program. The first issue of Loft also features an interview with CNN's chief of foreign correspondents Christiane Amanpour, the thoughts of Loft monthly columnist and soccer star, Diego Maradona as well as secret lesbian tips from lesbian author and activist Jamie Goddard.
