Reciprocal Reduces Staff by 65%

Reciprocal, Inc., a provider of digital rights management and distribution services, announced that it will be restructuring its operations. As a result of this move to consolidate and streamline its business, Reciprocal will reduce personnel by approximately 65%. In April of this year Reciprocal laid off 50 employees -- about 29% of its workforce. The company claims that despite the considerable reduction in staff it will still be able to maintain its core capabilities and services.

Reciprocal will continue to offer digital rights management (DRM), digital asset management and implementation services in the music, publishing, software, film, entertainment and other digital media markets, and for information technology infrastructure players.

``The market for secure digital distribution solutions remains very promising, with enormous dollar value and growth prospects,'' said John Schwarz, President and CEO, Reciprocal. ``The demand for our services has been growing 100% annually, but still not nearly as quickly as we had anticipated. Reciprocal will capitalize on its technology and market leadership and use its strong core skills and capabilities to position itself for the growth to come.''
