Windows 2000 Magazine Will Become Windows & .NET Magazine

Penton Media, a business media company, announced that Windows 2000 Magazine will become Windows & .NET Magazine effective with the January 2002 issue.

``Several factors make now the perfect time to change the name of our publication and online network,'' said Kim Paulsen, publisher. ``Windows is gaining share as a corporate computing platform. Support for the .NET framework is initially strong. We're the editorial leader in both the enterprise Windows infrastructure and .NET space. It simply makes sense for us to carry both Microsoft enterprise brands in our title. By granting us the exclusive license to use this title, Microsoft has validated our position.''

The Windows & .NET Magazine Network -- a print, online and email network of resources -- helps IT managers and professionals make mission-critical decisions about why and how to implement technologies within their enterprise infrastructure. Editorial content aims to help technologists evaluate the strategic issues surrounding technology options and then explains how to deploy and maintain the technologies once they've made their purchase decision.

``The Windows and .NET Magazine Network is the single source for everything associated with IT infrastructure on Windows and integrated Microsoft platforms within the enterprise,'' said Karen Forster, editor-in-chief. ``And as the technology market moves toward a `software as service' environment, it is our editorial mission and responsibility to our readers to lead and interpret the transition from a Windows-centric to a Web services-centric world.''
