CMP Media Launches EE Times Network

CMP Media's EE Times, an industry news source for engineers and technical managers, announced the the formation of specialized networks in the communications, embedded systems and design automation markets. The EE Times Network is published by CMP Media LLC, with headquarters based in Manhasset, NY.

Richard Wallace, former EE Times editorial director and previously EDTN managing director, will assume the role of EE Times Network vice president and editorial director, overseeing strategic and day-to-day operations of all print and online properties. Brian Fuller becomes editor-in-chief of EE Times, bringing his news reporting and online experience to this leadership position. Rick Merritt and David Lammers will assume the roles of editor-at-large, allowing them to focus on high-level investigative reporting. Anthony Cataldo has been promoted to EE Times Editor, News.

Tim Moran, the newly appointed EE Times online editor, will oversee the strategic integration of the news web site EE Times.com with its technical communities, Planet Analog, The Work Circuit, CommsDesign.com, Embedded.com and EEdesign.com. Moran will create exclusive online content.

Loring Wirbel, director of EE Times' Communications Network, will oversee editorial direction of the monthly print publication, Communication Systems Design (CSD) and its online community, CommsDesign.com. Both Wirbel and Ron Wilson, editorial director of Integrated System Design (ISD), will take a more prominent role in reporting and providing commentary on EE Times. Richard Goering, EE Times' EDA editor, heads up an expanded EEdesign.com for systems and chip designers, rounding out the EE Times Design Network. Former CSD editor Rob Keenan joins the expanded CommsDesign.com.
