INT Media Group Acquires SmallBusinessComputing.com

Posted on February 1, 2002

INT Media Group announced that it acquired the online and offline assets of Small Business Computing Magazine, including DestinationSmallBiz.com, from Freedom Technology Media Group, Inc. on December 31, 2001. INT Media Group has redesigned and relaunched the site as SmallBusinessComputing.com. The print magazine will no longer be published.

INT Media Group, headquartered in Darien, CT, is a provider of news, information and media resources for technology professionals. INT Media struggled last year during the dot-com crash and went through several rounds of layoffs. However, the company has continued to acquire new companies and websites, both in 2001 and 2002. INT Media also dropped the dot-com from its name last year when it changed its name from Internet.com to INT Media Group.

"The acquisition of Small Business Computing continues the expansion of INT Media Group's editorial coverage of the technology industry and will be a valuable resource for our user audience as well as for INT Media Group, stated Alan M. Meckler, Chairman and CEO of INT Media Group. "Technology information is changing daily and requires constant reporting. Therefore we are discontinuing the monthly print magazine and now are providing the small business community and SOHO market with daily online content and a companion e-mail newsletter."

SmallBusinessComputing.com is a daily information resource for Internet and IT professionals, focusing on technology solutions for small business owners. The site features a product testing and review section, a buyer's guide, business tools, daily news for emarketers and webmasters and an email newsletter. SmallBusinessComputing.com can be found on internet.com's Internet Technology Channel.
