Friday, February 1, 2002 Media Cynic | Forum | Advertising | Classifieds | Jobs CMP Media To Debut New Architect Magazine in March The premiere issue of New Architect will feature a guest editorial by John Perry Barlow, co-founder and vice chairman of the Electronic Frontier Foundation. In his New Architect editorial, Barlow explores the problems with closed standards and fee-for-content systems, and explains how readers need to be more involved in the Internet legislation process. "We realize that Internet strategists don't have the time to read about technologies that may 'revolutionize' the industry," notes Amit Asaravala, editor in chief of New Architect and editorial director of the New Architect Media Group. "Our readers are now charged with decisions that could potentially make or break the business. They are grappling with merging their companies' core IT systems with Internet and emerging technologies. We provide them with technically sophisticated information about products and services to help them make the critical decisions for this process." The New Architect website and monthly email newsletter, "This Month at NewArchitectmag.com," will debut with the magazine. Both contain full articles and article summaries, links to online resources, updates on current events, and exclusive content not found in New Architect magazine including New Architect research offerings and an online recruiting service. New Architect's direction and evolution reflect eight months of research that proved that organizations are integrating Internet technologies with core business systems. CMP Media said this fundamental shift away from stand-alone Internet initiatives has changed the needs of the readership.
