UP Media Group Acquires CMP Media's PCB Group

Newly formed UP Media Group, Inc. announced the acquisition of CMP Media LLC's PCB Group, which includes Printed Circuit Design (PCD) magazine, Circuits Assembly (CA) magazine, PC FAB magazine and the PCB Design Conferences.

"The formation of UPMG (UP Media Group) is a positive step toward growing and strengthening the PCB enterprise that formerly existed within CMP Media," said UPMG owner and president Pete Waddell. "We are drawing on decades of knowledge and experience within the group and harnessing that unique understanding of the market to propel us in a positive direction."

Waddell, former Publishing Director of PCD, PC FAB and CA magazines, as well as Show Director for the PCB Design Conferences, has more than 25 years within the publishing and PCB industry. Laura Sims, former Associate Publisher of CA magazine and a 12-year veteran of the industry, is now Group Publisher of all three UPMG publications. Both the editorial and sales staff for all three magazines will remain intact, as well as the management and operational team for the PCB Design Conferences.

UPMG publishes Printed Circuit Design magazine, Circuits Assembly magazine and PC FAB magazine and produces two PCB Design Conferences per year -- PCB Design Conference West in Santa Clara, Calif., and PCB Design Conference East in the Boston area.
