Penton Media To Launch Connected Home Magazine in April

Posted on February 7, 2002

Penton Media announced it will publish the premier issue of Connected Home Magazine in April 2002. The magazine is part of an integrated media launch of print, in person and online resources including a website, a weekly email newsletter and Connected Home: The Event coming May 21-23, 2002, in Baltimore, MD.

Connected Home Magazine provides resources to help IT professionals, integrators, and technically savvy users implement, maintain and secure home technology for telecommuting, small office/home office, entertainment and home automation -- and to integrate home technology into their life. Topics include audio, visual, home theater, mobile and wireless, home networking, home office and home controls.

"Connected Home Magazine explores the 'how' behind the 'wow.' Many publishers have tried to tackle niches within this segment but they end up limiting their coverage to introducing the latest gadgets and fads," said Karen Forster, publisher. "We're the first to actually explain how to use and integrate all this technology into your work and home life. Microsoft estimates that 26% of U.S. households have multiple PCs in their homes. Our readers tell us that 87% have three PCs in their home, so they are at the leading edge of the technology curve."
