Your Stepfamily Magazine to Launch Later This Year

Your Stepfamily has announced a formal partnership with the Stepfamily Association of America (SAA), a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to successful stepfamily living. Through this partnership, Your Stepfamily magazine becomes the official magazine of the Stepfamily Association of America.

The charter issue of the bi-monthly publication, Your Stepfamily, will be mailed to more than 150,000 readers beginning in Quarter 3 of 2002. The magazine bills itself as a bi-monthly magazine created just for moms, dads and kids who want to learn from and enjoy the relationships they're creating as they evolve as a stepfamily.

Margorie Engel, MBA, PhD, and President/CEO of SAA will serve as Your Stepfamily's senior editorial advisor. Engel is an author, speaker, and media consultant specializing in families complicated by divorce and remarriage. Also contributing to Your Stepfamily is Terry Savage, Chicago SunTimes financial columnist and author of The Savage Truth on Money. In addition, Jean McBride, M.S., LMFT, President of the Center for Divorce and Remarriage, will be offering content to the publication.

Contributing photographer for the new magazine is Thomas Balsamo, who created work for George Fisher, former president of Eastman Kodak, Gayle Sayres, Chicago Bear great and has displayed work at the Smithsonian Museum. Randy Salerno, noon anchor, WGN Television, Chicago, and his family will be featured in the first issue of Your Stepfamily.

SAA Board members will serve as Your Stepfamily's editorial advisory board. These professionals include published authors and stepfamily experts: John Visher, Kay Pasley, EdD, Mary Ann Mason, JD, PhD, and Marilyn Coleman, PhD.

Your Stepfamily is owned by YSF LLC, a privately held, women-owned publishing company producing educational magazines and trade shows. The nonprofit Stepfamily Association of America founded in 1977 by stepfamily research and practice pioneers Drs. John and Emily Visher. SAA provides information, education, support, and advocacy for stepfamilies and those who work with them.
