Handheld Media Group Acquires PDABuzz.com

Posted on March 8, 2002

Handheld Media Group announced it has acquired the website PDABuzz.com, from CompanionLink Software, Inc. in a move designed to broaden its area of expertise and coverage in the handheld computing market. The move is the first in a series of plans to expand the company's focus beyond its expertise in the Palm OS market. Launched in 1998, PDABuzz.com currently serves close to 6 million users.

"When we considered our options for expanding our coverage of handheld technologies to cover additional platforms beyond the Palm OS, an acquisition of the industry's largest and most respected website was a natural move," said Andrew Eisenberg, CEO of Handheld. "PDABuzz has already earned the respect and devotion of hundreds of thousands of handheld computing enthusiasts."

As a part of the agreement, the staff of PDABuzz will become a part of Handheld Media Group. Wes Salmon, founder and editor of PDABuzz, says he's looking forward to working with the editorial, administrative, and marketing professionals of Handheld Media Group in order to offer a greater depth of online information and news on handheld computing.

Handheld Media Group is an information resource and marketing solution provider in the area of handheld computing. Established in 1997 with the launch of Tap Magazine, now named Handheld Computing Magazine, Handheld Media Group now maintains several media properties for handheld enthusiasts.
