iExalt Acquires Preacher Magazine

Posted on March 22, 2002

iExalt, Inc., a Christian media products and services company, announced the acquisition of Preaching Resources, Inc., publisher of Preaching magazine, a bi-monthly magazine for pastors and ministers. Launched in 1985, Preaching has 10,000 readers in the United States and internationally. Dr. Michael Duduit, founder of Preaching Resources, Inc., will remain as president of the division with no changes in operations. Preaching management has relocated to iExalt's new satellite office in Brentwood, Tenn.

"The acquisition of Preaching is a perfect example of our acquisition strategy at iExalt," reports Donald W. Sapaugh, chairman and chief executive officer. "In Preaching, we now have a high quality, proven theological publication with regular advertisers that can grow its subscriber base by utilizing the other media channels and services of iExalt. iExalt's other divisions, in turn, have another media channel in Preaching to increase their marketing potential as well."

Duduit has served as editor of Preaching since the magazine's inception. Ten years later he created Preaching.com as a Web-based resource for church leaders. In addition to the magazine, Preaching Resources will continue to produce and promote the National Conference on Preaching, which began in 1989, providing professional development opportunities for hundreds of pastors through events in Atlanta, Orlando, Houston, Nashville, Dallas, Newport Beach and other cities. The first International Congress on Preaching was held in London's Westminster Chapel in 1997.

A graduate of Southern Baptist Seminary and Stetson University, Duduit received the Ph.D. in Humanities from Florida State University. He is a former president of the Baptist Communicators Association. He is author and editor of several books, including the Handbook of Contemporary Preaching (Broadman Press) and Communicate With Power (Baker Books).

iExalt continues its aggressive search for strategic acquisitions in the Christian media, entertainment and retail market. Sapaugh said, "We will continue to look for good companies that fit the iExalt model and will continue to develop new products and services. We are very close to finalizing key acquisitions and strategic relationships that could dramatically increase revenues and improve our cash position."

Headquartered in Houston, iExalt, Inc. provides Christian media products, services and technology to the Christian community. The company's strategy is to acquire, develop and manage a large channel of media (print, radio, software and Internet). The company's divisions include a monthly Christian newspaper, a Christian events magazine, two radio shows, a speaker's bureau, a performing artist talent agency, a marketing communications agency, a digital content library, online ministry resources and a filtered ISP.
