Platts Launches Energy Business and Technology Magazine

Posted on April 23, 2002

Platts announced that it has launched a new magazine, Platts Energy Business and Technology. The new publication is the result of a merging of two Platts magazines, Global Energy Business and Energy IT. Platts is an energy information, research, consulting and marketing services business of The McGraw-Hill Companies.

Platts Energy Business & Technology combines the technology reporting of Energy IT with the corporate finance, industry trends, energy policy, and strategic planning coverage of Global Energy Business. Jon Arnold, editor-in-chief of Energy IT, has been appointed editor-in-chief of Platts Energy Business & Technology.

"The initial response from readers and advertisers regarding the new magazine has been extremely positive," said Bill Faust, vice president of Business Development and Marketing Services at Platts. "Advertisers in Energy IT have repeatedly expressed a desire to reach top managers as well as technology officers in energy companies. Conversely, Global Energy Business readers have demanded more IT coverage, so the merger of those two publications to create Platts Energy Business & Technology is a win-win for our advertisers and readers alike."

The new magazine will debut in May and will carry a circulation of 37,000. The global subscriber list consists of energy company CEOs, CFOs, CIOs and other top, corporate decision-makers and senior technology and IT officers.
