The site is the online version of the print trade publication Web Hosting Magazine, which Infotonic published from January 2000-February 2002. Whmag.com chronicles the wide-ranging Web hosting industry, which scales from small reseller shops to publicly traded firms, and includes the telecommunications sector and hardware and software vendors. "Web hosting has taken a public beating over the past year. Major players have crashed and burned. But as a result, the industry is evolving and its survivors are still making headlines," said whmag.com editor Doug Davala. Whmag.com offers visitors daily news and analysis, as well as in-depth feature stories. Users also can post comments, discuss stories and industry happenings, and submit company news and press releases. The site is targeted toward those who work in Web hosting or related industries, as well as technology journalists and analysts. "This website picks up where the magazine left off, but adds the real-time capabilities of the Internet," Davala said. "From the geeks in the data centers to the managers in the boardrooms, if you have an interest in Web hosting, this is your site."
