2002 Agatha Award Winners Announced

The winners of the annual Agatha Awards have been announced. The presentation was made at the Malice Domestic XIV convention in Arlington, Virginia earlier this month. Rhys Bowen won the best novel award for Murphy's Law (Minotaur Books).

The Agatha Awards, named for Malice inspiration Agatha Christie, are awarded for the best novel, first mystery novel, nonfiction, children's and short story in the genre for the previous year. Presentation is made at the Malice Domestic convention held each year in April or May.

Best First Mystery Novel Bubbles Unbound by Sarah Strohmeyer (Dutton)

Best Nonfiction Work Seldom Disappointed: A Memoir by Tony Hillerman (HarperCollins)

Best Short Story "The Would-Be Widower" by Katherine Hall Page, Malice Domestic X (Avon Books)

Best Children's/YA The Mystery of the Haunted Caves (Troop 13 Mystery) by Penny Warner (Meadowbook Press)
