Financial Media Holdings Launches Compliance Week

Posted on June 21, 2002

Financial Media Holdings Group, Inc., announced the launch of Compliance Week, a Web- and email-based publication serving the needs of corporate executives responsible for disclosure among the financial community and investing public. The publication provides information on the latest news, regulatory actions, investigations, trends, technologies and guidance to assist public companies in meeting compliance requirements. The publication will include no advertising.

"It's no surprise that fundamental changes are afoot in the financial, accounting and corporate governance communities," said Scott Cohen, publisher of Compliance Week. "The surprise, however, is the magnitude of the current crisis regarding corporate trust. The collapse of standards at firms that had previously been establishing guidance for the entire industry has created the demand for a new, unbiased voice like Compliance Week."

"The decision to include no advertising or sponsorships of any kind has been critical to ensuring the trust of our subscribers and the privacy of their personal information," said managing editor Frank Hertz.

Compliance Week is operated by FMHG, founded in early 2002 by publishing veterans Scott Cohen and Frank Hertz. Cohen and Hertz were members of the founding team of the Boston Globe's Internet initiative (Boston.com), where Cohen was a director and Hertz was the editor of the online news operation. Each has over 10 years' experience in the publishing industry.
