New Publication Is Geared Toward Grandparents

Posted on June 27, 2002

United Parenting Publications, Inc. (UPPI) has created Get Up & Go, a new magazine for active and involved grandparents. The publication recently debuted in 12 of the 27 UPPI markets. UPPI said it recognized the need for this type of publication in light of the fact that each day more and more of the nation's 78 million baby boomers are becoming grandparents. The average age of the first-time grandparent today is 47.

Get Up & Go aims to help young grandparents make the most of the challenges and opportunities before them today. It provides editorial content on topics such as family relations with their grandchildren; planning for the future regarding health, work, money and housing concerns; their financial, spiritual and creative legacy and opportunities for fun through travel, family activities and local events and resources. Get Up & Go will be published three times per year and be distributed through local grocery stores, bookstores, travel agencies and more. UPPI anticipates launching this publication in more of its 27 markets. The next issue will be published in October 2002.

UPPI is the publisher of 27 monthly parenting titles throughout the United States. UPPI is a division of Trader Publishing Company.
