Books24x7 Signs Agreement with Perseus Publishing

Books24x7, a subsidiary of SkillSoft Corp. and the developer of online referenceware for IT and business professionals, announced that it had signed a non-exclusive distribution agreement with Perseus Publishing, a member of the Perseus Books Group and a business publisher. Under the agreement, Books24x7 will add select titles from Perseus Publishing to its online BusinessPro offering. Two of the titles currently in production are Delivering Profitable Value, by Michael J. Lanning, and The Discipline of Market Leaders, by Michael Treacy and Fred Wiersema.

"We see this partnership as a means toward enhanced exposure for our authors and their books in the corporate market," said Carolyn Savarese, vice president for the Perseus Books Group. "SkillSoft and Books24x7 have strong direct sales channels into the corporate market and an established presence in the Global 2000. We believe this partnership will increase our penetration of this important audience."

BusinessPro is targeted to business managers and professionals and covers such topics as leadership, communication, coaching, time management, finance and accounting, recruiting, and marketing and sales. BusinessPro currently contains approximately 600 unabridged titles. Books24x7 also offers ITPro, a collection of more than 1,800 unabridged technical titles. Currently, Books24x7 has agreements with more than 80 publishers. Other recently signed publishers include Cambridge University Press, Purdue University Press, Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), Career Press, and No Starch Press.
