Both Launch and Vibe/Spin will work together jointly to market the sites. Active Vibe and Spin domains will now have direct links to these sites, as well as additional subscription and customer service information. Vibe.yahoo.com and Spin.yahoo.com will be the exclusive online home for cover stories, album reviews, up-to-date news and feature stories, as well as expanded editorial coverage from current issues of the magazines. Unique, online-only features will include news bites, local music reports and editor's picks. Additional initiatives incorporate the continued development of interactive features, such as artist interviews, real-time polling capabilities and user message boards. "Vibe and Spin are ahead of the curve in terms of bringing the latest music news and information to their readers first," says Vibe/Spin Ventures CEO Alex Mironovich. "Yahoo's vast online resources and global brand recognition, along with the power of Vibe and Spin in the marketplace, will provide instant access to the distinctive, wide-ranging coverage music fans crave." Vibe/Spin Ventures, based in New York, is a music/lifestyle media company whose core assets include Vibe and Spin magazines. VSV was formed in June 1997 as a partnership between Robert L. Miller, Quincy Jones, David Salzman, and Freeman Spogli and Co. Vibe and Spin, both monthlies, have circulations of 800,000 and 525,000, respectively.
