Greater Cincinnati People Magazine Launches in September

Previously scheduled for a newsstand delivery date of mid-August, Greater Cincinnati People magazine has rescheduled publication of its first issue for September 5th. Commercials introducing the public to the magazine will air on local television stations beginning August 26.

The cover story will feature Cincinnati City Manager Valerie Lemmie. "Ms. Lemmie was a wonderful choice for the first cover. She is new to the city and our readers will be excited to learn more about her," said Publisher James Dygert.

In addition to Ms. Lemmie, the inaugural issue will feature stories about local people including children's artist, Zak Morgan, a sought-after national performer who has gigs across the country. There is also a story on Cincinnati Chef and owner of J's Fresh Seafood Jimmy Gherardi, often seen on "Food Network," who is getting ready to launch a national television show. The launch issue also includes an article about Tom Kelly, the owner of Wildwood Inn Dome & Theme Suites in Florence, Kentucky. A themed hotel, visitors can stay in a variety of themed suites that include the Egyptian Suite, Safari Village or Aladdin Suite.

"This is only the beginning. There are hundreds of fascinating stories right here in the Greater Cincinnati area," said Dygert, formerly the publisher of two Cincinnati area weekly newspapers.

With the slogan, "Great Town! Great Stories!" the every-other-week magazine promises to feature timely, interesting and upbeat stories about the people of Greater Cincinnati. In addition, there will be articles about sports figures, local authors, entertainment, events, the social scene, guest columns and a Cincinnati crossword puzzle. The magazine will retail for $3.50, with an introductory annual subscription rate of $24.95 for charter subscribers (26 issues). It will also be available in food markets, bookstores and other businesses where magazines are sold.
