Futuredex Launches New Magazine on Private Capital

Posted on September 20, 2002

Futuredex, Inc., a private capital network of entrepreneurs and investors based in San Francisco, is launching Futuredex, a new magazine for the private capital community. The goal of the new magazine is to provide investors with information to drive decision making and to give entrepreneurs the visibility they need to secure funding. Futuredex magazine is partnering with Worth magazine as a distribution partner beginning with the October 2002 issue. The magazine will be bundled with Worth to a targeted segment of their subscriber base of 345,000. Futuredex will also be available with a paid membership to the Futuredex network.

Content for the monthly glossy focuses on the people who make up the private sector starting with the premier issue featuring Damir Perge, CEO, Chairman, Co-Founder, and editor-in-chief of Futuredex, on the cover of the four-color publication. Additional features include: monthly columns ranging from offshore investing to emerging sectors; profiles of emerging companies and investors on the Futuredex network; and trend data and analysis on the private sector.

"There are thousands of entrepreneurs out there with solid business models who are challenged to secure their next round of funding," said Perge. "The Futuredex magazine, coupled with our online network, is built around showcasing exciting emerging companies, while providing investors with the best source of information in the private capital sector."

In addition to editor-in-chief Damir Perge the publication includes several others with past experience in business publications. The publisher of Futuredex, Keith Newman, was previously editor and publisher of Computer Retail Week and has also served as president of IDG's Channel Services. Michael Molinski, the managing editor of the magazine, comes from CBS MarketWatch where he served as senior editor and columnist. The senior editor is Eric Reyes, who has worked at Business 2.0, New York Daily News, Excite.com, and the San Jose Metro. And Adam Phipps, previously of Jupiter Media Metrix and Net MarketMakers, will be the assistant editor.

"The great wealth creation mechanism of our time is the private company--it's how real wealth is built in America -- so we are thrilled to be a partner with Futuredex to give private companies the attention they so justly deserve and our high net-worth investors first shot at these hard to find, but high reward investment opportunities," said W. Randall Jones, CEO of Worth Media and Editor-in-Chief of Worth magazine.
