Travel + Leisure en Espanol Launches With October Issue

American Express Publishing Corporation and Editorial Televisa, S.A. DE C.V. have announced the launch of Travel + Leisure en Espanol. The first issue, October 2002, is scheduled to be on newsstands in late September with an initial distribution of 120,000 copies and an equivalent cover price of between US $3.00 and US $4.00 based on local currencies. Travel + Leisure en Espanol will be sold in 17 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, including major markets such as Mexico, Chile, and Argentina, as well as Puerto Rico and selected Spanish-speaking areas within the United States.

Reynaldo Ales has been named editor in chief of Travel + Leisure en Espanol. Most recently, Mr. Ales was editor in chief of Men's Fitness en Espanol and editor in chief of Motor Trend en Espanol. Other past positions include Associate Editor of Newsweek en Espanol and Managing Editor at Airboard Inflight Magazines. He has also been a freelance travel writer-photographer. Travel + Leisure editor in chief Nancy Novogrod will help guide all editorial design and content of Travel + Leisure en Espanol.

Editorial Televisa is a publisher of Spanish-language magazines. The company publishes 45 titles with a combined circulation of over 7.9 million and distribution in 19 countries throughout the western hemisphere. Editorial Televisa is a subsidiary of Grupo Televisa, a Spanish-language media conglomerate encompassing television networks and stations, radio, internet, event production, and motion picture production and distribution.
