Martha Stewart Living Launches Weekly Book Segment

Martha Stewart Living recently debuted "Martha's Favorite Books", a weekly segment airing every Tuesday featuring interviews with authors of a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books. Titles selected for "Martha's Favorite Books" are drawn from Martha's own library as well as recommendations from the editorial staff, friends, and family. The segment began on September 17th.

In addition to quality literature about food, cooking, collecting, and gardening -- staples of the Martha Stewart Living lifestyle -- "Martha's Favorite Books" has also included fiction such as Life of Pi by Yann Martel and Everything is Illuminated by first-time author Jonathan Safran Foer, as well as celebrated new books from established bestselling authors including Oliver Sacks, whose latest work is Oaxaca Journal.

Martha Stewart has featured authors on Martha Stewart Living since the show's inception in 1993. Previous guests include authors Maurice Sendak, Jamaica Kincaid, William Joyce, and Julia Child.

Now a regular feature every Tuesday, "Martha's Favorite Books" gives authors the opportunity to read excerpts from their books and discuss their work. In some instances, the guest author might join Martha later in the show for a special segment to demonstrate something from the book -- from serving up Margarita Melon Balls with Amy Goldman, author of Melons for the Passionate Grower, to preparing Spicy Lobster Linguine with Linda Greenlaw, author of The Lobster Chronicles.

Martha Stewart Living airs nationally in syndication for one-hour, five days a week, with a half-hour weekend edition. Produced by Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc., and created and hosted by Martha Stewart, Martha Stewart Living covers all topics related to the home including cooking, gardening, collecting, restoring and organizing. Martha Stewart Living is distributed nationally by King World Productions, Inc.
