Friday, November 8, 2002 Jones and Bartlett Acquires Health Care Books From Aspen Jones and Bartlett Publishers, Inc. has acquired the Health Care Book Publishing Division of Aspen Publishers, Inc., a subsidiary of Wolters Kluwer's Legal, Tax and Business North America. Jones and Bartlett, an educational publishers, will incorporate the former Aspen titles into its texts, professional and reference products in health and related fields. "This is an important acquisition for Jones and Bartlett and clearly reinforces our commitment to the growing health care field," said Clayton E. Jones, Chief Executive Officer of J&B. "We are very pleased to carry on the rich editorial tradition established by Aspen of publishing the finest texts and references in the health care field. This is a very complementary fit for Jones and Bartlett and will allow us to broaden our reach and impact in this important field around the world." Aspen has been a publisher in health care administration for over 40 years. The Health Care Book acquisition adds over 150 textbooks and over 400 professional books in the fields of Health Administration, Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health, Criminal Justice, Fundraising and Non-Profit Management.
