IWJ Features Interviews With David Morrell and Shirley Palmer

The October/November issue of The Internet Writing Journal (The IWJ), an award-winning online magazine, includes an interviews with New York Times bestselling author David Morrell. David Morrell created the blueprint for the modern action thriller with his debut novel, First Blood, which introduced the world to Viet Nam vet Rambo. His latest thriller is Long Lost (Warner Books), in which an ordinary man must give up everything to find the family that was taken from him. In the interview, David Morrell discusses Long Lost and his other new release: Lessons From a Lifetime of Writing: A Novelist Looks at His Craft (Writer's Digest Books). He also gives some great advice for aspiring novelists.

The October/November issue also features an interview with mystery/thriller author Shirley Palmer, who is best known for her bestselling novel, A Veiled Journey, a thriller set in Saudi Arabia. Shirley lived in Saudi Arabia for a time, and saw first hand how women were brutally repressed. In this exclusive interview, Shirley discusses her exciting new thriller, Danger Zone (Mira), and how she creates her memorable characters. She also shares her experiences about living as a Western woman in Saudi Arabia, where a woman can be jailed for venturing out on the streets without a male relative.

This issue's articles include: "Songwriting Elegance Through Song Form: Part I" by syndicated radio show host and CEO of CQK Music & Records, Mary Dawson; "Kill is a Four Letter Word" by Hazel Edwards and Goldie Alexander; "The Five Golden Rules of Publicity for Authors" by Katherine Smith; and "Writing That Killer Query" by Keith Rommel.
