The IWJ Features Interviews With Jayne Ann Krentz and Lee Smith

The December/January issue of The Internet Writing Journal (The IWJ), an award-winning online magazine, includes an interview with New York Times bestselling novelist Jayne Ann Krentz. Whether she's writing contemporary suspense under the name Jayne Ann Krentz, historical romance under the name Amanda Quick, or futuristic romance under the name Jayne Castle, she always manages to turn out books that readers can rely on for their excellent quality. Jayne Ann Krentz has over 23 million of her books in print, in numerous languages. Jayne discusses her determination to succeed early in her career when the rejection slips were piling up, why she never stopped writing and her latest novel, Light in Shadow (Putnam).

The December/January issue also features an interview with acclaimed Southern writer Lee Smith. Lee Smith has received eight major writing awards including the Lila Wallace/Readers Digest Award, the Robert Penn Warren Prize for Fiction, and two O. Henry Awards. In this candid interview, author Jan McDaniel talks with Lee Smith about her love for the South and how it has inspired her writing, and discusses her latest novel, The Last Girls (Algonquin Books) which Kirkus Reviews calls, "A bittersweet comedy with a fine sharp edge."

This issue's articles include: "Songwriting Elegance Through Song Form: Part I" by syndicated radio show host and CEO of CQK Music & Records, Mary Dawson; "Kill is a Four Letter Word" by Hazel Edwards and Goldie Alexander; "The Five Golden Rules of Publicity for Authors" by Katherine Smith; and "Writing That Killer Query" by Keith Rommel. The issue also features picks from The IWJ's book reviewers in genres including: children's, computers, fantasy/sf/horror, mystery/thriller, romance and writing.
