National Lampoon Network Announces Lineup For First TV Season

National Lampoon announced that it has launched a new TV network that reaches 3.5 million college students on 420 American campuses. National Lampoon Network airs four hours of original programming three times a week.

National Lampoon Network Shows
  • Bridget The Midget -- A reality series that follows the exploits and challenges of Bridget, a sexy, 3'10" tall actress and rock singer.
  • Riffage Live -- A backstage interview show featuring up-and-coming rock bands as they perform live around the country, hosted by Bijou Phillips.
  • Gamers -- A review show in which two video game junkies, Matt Jones and Trish Suhr, critique new video games.
  • A/V Squad -- An interview and live performance show hosted by Lesley Swanson. Recent appearances include Kid Rock, Tenacious D, Barenaked Ladies and John Mayer.
  • Half Baked -- A cooking show that explores the cuisine of music, sports, fashion and acting icons, including Shaquille O'Neal with his morning omelet, Tara Reid with her 'hang down stanky bread,' Andy Roddick with 'rock' potatoes and Lisa Loeb with Texas Banana Cream Pie.
  • National Lampoon News -- A news show, hosted by comedian Ben Gleiberman, who puts National Lampoon's special spin on current events.
"National Lampoon Network's first slate of programming shows the company's potential to produce and deliver the kind of cutting-edge entertainment that 18-to-24-year-olds are tuning into today," said Doug Bennett, National Lampoon Executive Vice President. "For 30 years, National Lampoon has been an institution in college life and now our TV network is going to carry on that tradition."

In 2002, National Lampoon acquired the assets of Burly Bear Network, one of the two major on-campus college television networks. The purchase included the television network, which is distributed exclusively to colleges and universities, as well as a library of college programming targeted directly at the 18-to-24-year-old demographic.
