Left Field Ink Launches Angel Gate Publishing Label

Posted on February 7, 2003

Left Field Ink, Inc., a marketing firm specializing in the entertainment and consumer products industry, announced the formation of Angel Gate, its new publishing subsidiary. Angel Gate's efforts will focus primarily on children and young adult entertainment.

"Our primary company, Left Field, is a design and printing firm. We have achieved over ten years of operating success in this industry," said Debbie Bishop, founder of Left Field and publisher for Angel Gate, "I am thrilled to extend our experience with design, publishing and brand-building to Angel Gate, our own publishing house."

A published author, Bishop has a background in marketing that feeds her vision of product creation and book publishing. With Angel Gate, she feels that she is now in the position to offer authors, producers and other creators the opportunity to work with a team of experienced and enthusiastic professionals. "In conjunction with Left Field, Angel Gate enjoys a unique market position as full service provider. We offer a diverse range of services that include book and package design, manufacturing, creative services, marketing, content branding and distribution," Bishop noted.

Enter the Game, the inaugural title published by Angel Gate, will be available for purchase in March 2003. Enter the Game is the first in a series of sci-fi, action-adventure books for young adults entitled Black Tide Rising. Based on the popular Black Tide comic book series, these stories are set in the characters' teen years and deal with many of the same issues facing the world today.

Beginning with the ninth issue in April 2003, Angel Gate will also publish the Black Tide comic book series. This special issue, penciled and inked by guest artist Norm Breyfogle, begins a new story arc that is also influenced by many of the conflicts and technologies in today's international news. Additional upcoming titles from Angel Gate include The Fairies of Bladderwhack Pond (a complete brand franchise with products targeted to release in Spring 2003), and Maze of the Minotaur (the first young adult novel based on the comic book series, 10th Muse).
