Posted on April 18, 2003

Gannett Co., Inc. has announced the acquisition of the "101 Things to Do" series of magazines in Hawaii. Included in the transaction are four quarterly magazines: 101 Things to Do on Kauai, 101 Things to Do on Oahu, 101 Things to do on Maui and 101 Things to Do on The Big Island. Gannett also acquired the website, 101thingstodo.com, and the right to expand the franchise into other areas of the country. The publications were owned by Greg Gardiner through two companies: 101 Inc. and G&L Investments Inc.

"These fun and informative magazines are a great asset for Gannett not only because they enhance the publications we already own in Hawaii, but also because they are a great idea we can take into other markets," said Gary L. Watson, President, Gannett Newspaper Division.

Gannett also owns the Honolulu Advertiser and has a fifty percent interest in Hawaii.com. Gannett is an international news and information company that publishes 100 daily newspapers in the USA, including USA Today.
