Advanstar Announces Debut of Modern Health For Women

Posted on July 4, 2003

Advanstar Healthcare Communications announced that the premiere issue of Modern Health for Women, a direct-to-patient publication addressing women's health issues, will be available next month. Advanstar had originally planned for a January, 2003 launch when they first announced the new publication last November. The publication will be made available in the waiting rooms of more than 24,000 ObGyns, Obstetricians, Gynecologists, and Reproductive Endocrinologists throughout the United States.

Modern Health for Women will focus on health issues that concern women of all ages. The publication offers different perspectives on treatment options; provides roadmaps for distinguishing between normal and abnormal changes of the health cycle; clarifies approaches to prevention and diagnosis; and reports on new advances that may affect all women.

"I am confident women across the country will find Modern Health for Women to contain timely, credible and reliable information," said Matthew J. Holland, Publisher. "Getting the support from advertisers like the Merck Manual, Adeza, Genzyme, AkPharma and Ethicon Endo-Surgery justifies such a statement. We also feel Modern Health for Women will play an important role in opening the lines of communication between women consumers and their healthcare providers."

The premiere issue covers such topics as osteoporosis, sleep problems, seasonal allergies, urinary incontinence, and the importance of being sun savvy. A second issue is planned in the Fall of 2003, and six issues are planned for 2004.

Advanstar Healthcare Communications, which is part of Advanstar Communications Inc., focuses on medical publishing and physician education. In addition to Managed Healthcare Executive and Formulary Magazines, the company publishes DVM Newsmagazine, Cosmetic Surgery Times, Dermatology Times, Ophthalmology Times, Ophthalmology Times China, Ophthalmology Times America Latina, Geriatrics, HT, The Magazine for Healthcare Travel Professionals, and Urology Times.
