New Fitness Magazine Launches in North Carolina

Posted on August 15, 2003

Endurance Magazine, a monthly resource for total fitness in the Triangle, has launched its inaugural issue. There were 20,000 copies distributed across over 275 locations from Cary to Hillsborough and beyond. Issues of Endurance Magazine were distributed as far as Greensboro and Sanford. By 2004, Endurance plans to distribute 40,000 copies across over 500 locations.

"Our current focus is the Triangle, and we recognize that this region extends well beyond the borders of Chapel Hill and Raleigh," said Steve Lackey, Publisher and Managing Editor for the new regional magazine. "We are also working with race and event directors across the region to include our magazine in the thousands of race packets given out to registered participants."

Endurance Magazine's philosophy for growth is a commitment to providing awareness and insight to athletes and active people of all ability levels. Their first issue has content for both beginners and experienced athletes. Features focus on fun and upbeat motivational articles, and monthly columns cover everything from running to cycling to swimming. There are also two new columns featured in August's issue, a Women In Motion column that centers around women-specific issues and concerns regarding total fitness, and a Master's column, focused on senior athletes and those wishing to remain fit. September's issue promises a Youth-focused column, as well as a Strength Training section.
