New Magazine for In-House Counsel Launches

LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell, a client development company for the legal profession, has announced the debut of Counsel To Counsel, a bimonthly magazine produced in association with Corporate Legal Times. Counsel To Counsel will offer cbenchmarking information and insights from in-house counsel and their advisors worldwide. The magazine builds on Martindale-Hubbell's Counsel To Counsel series of forums.

The debut issue of Counsel To Counsel appears as a supplement accompanying the September issue of Corporate Legal Times, a management monthly for corporate legal executives in the U.S. and Canada. The initial issue will be distributed to approximately 60,000 readers, including Corporate Legal Times' U.S. subscribers and a variety of other Martindale-Hubbell print and electronic distribution channels.

"Three years ago, we introduced our Counsel To Counsel roundtable series in Europe and since that time we have held more than 30 forums in 25 cities around the world, creating a new benchmark for frank discussions regarding management issues that connect in-house counsel and law firm partners," said Timothy B. Corcoran, vice president of marketing and business development for the large law firm market at New Providence, N.J.-based Martindale-Hubbell. "We're excited to build on the success of this initiative with the production of a bi-monthly magazine that will help in-house counsel stay abreast of trends in corporate legal management and stay in touch with what is on the minds of their peers around the world."

The debut issue of Counsel To Counsel includes the following articles:
  • Profiles in Partnership: Holland & Knight LLP/Tyco Plastics & Adhesives and Jenner & Block/Pechiney discuss the importance of clear expectations and open communications
  • Best Practices: Preston Gates & Ellis LLP advise on designing an effective corporate ethics program in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, and Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP presents a model for creating "User Guides" to define the impact of new legislation and regulations
  • Martindale Pulse: New survey shows what's on the minds of the largest corporate buyers of legal services in Europe
  • Horizon Issues in Life Sciences: Top advisors discuss critical developments in the industry that affect senior counsel in the life sciences sector
  • Skill Builder: Building the law department's corporate finance skills
  • Brief Advice: Senior lawyers suggest how general counsel can best provide advice to their senior management teams on corporate governance issues
Corporate Legal Times is a business magazine for general counsel and other in-house counsel, covering all issues related to their professional roles and career development. Those issues include coverage of the law itself; the hiring and supervision of outside professional services; the evolving corporate and business environment within which they operate; their career opportunities and choices; and the challenges they face managing a legal department. Corporate Legal Times is published monthly with a BPA audited circulation of more than 40,000.
