Avery Cardoza's Player Magazine Launches This Fall

Posted on October 10, 2003

Avery Cardoza, a bestselling author and gambling publisher, is betting that men ages 25-45 will want to read a new upscale gambling lifestyle magazine. That's why he's introducing Avery Cardoza's Player, which will hit newsstands nationally on October 21, 2003. Avery Cardoza's Player will sell for $4.99. In addition to a subscription list exceeding 40,000 names, AC Player magazine will be distributed to suites in selected major casinos.

"It's time to celebrate the fun and excitement of the entire gaming experience," said Cardoza. "Every person I talk to about AC Player has the same reaction: They love gambling and everything associated with it. They can't wait to get those vicarious thrills through our magazine."

Executive Editor Jim Mauro has assembled experts and writers to cover the passions of the gambling lifestyle including the drinks, the smokes, the right clothing, the right toys. As Mauro says, "This magazine gives readers a chance to experience that coming-to-life thrill when they're not at the tables."

Features from the premiere issue include:

Cardoza, Editor in Chief and Publisher of Avery Cardoza's Player, is the founder and CEO of Cardoza Publishing and Cardoza Entertainment. He is the author of more than 25 books on gaming and gambling. Founded in 1981, Cardoza Publishing is the largest publisher of gaming and gambling books in the world -- with more than 7 million books sold and a library of more than 100 active titles. Cardoza Entertainment, started in 1994, is the publisher of six casino-simulation computer games, with retail sales of over 1 million units.

Mauro said, "In a casino resort, people stand taller, dress better, treat themselves to a taste of the good life. Everyone who's ever sat at a table feels at least for one moment like James Bond. And for those of us who know that feeling, there's nothing else like it in the world."
