Posted on October 17, 2003

CurtCo Media, which publishes Robb Report and most recently acquired Worth, has announced the establishment of Digital TV. Launching as a quarterly publication Digital TV will focus on products and technologies driving the consumer electronics market. Scheduled to reach newsstands on December 2, Digital TV will have an initial distribution of 75,000 to newsstands, subscribers and audio/video dealers.

The new title will offer news, updates and product reviews on plasma and LCD flat-screen TV, high-definition TV, DLP and front projection TV systems, as well as related speaker and audio technologies. In addition, Digital TV will focus on promising new video technologies, such as LCOS and OLED. The new publication will also explore the increase in digital TV programming offerings, and the convergence of computers into the video market, as well as other aspects of the digital TV revolution.

"Clearly, the remarkable video technologies available today are now the primary driver of the consumer electronics marketplace," said CurtCo Media CEO William J. Curtis. "We are launching Digital TV magazine at a time when consumer demand for flat screen TV and related products is at an all time high. It is our mission to de-mystify the subject allowing consumers to purchase with confidence."

In line with the establishment of Digital TV, CurtCo also announced the appointment of Michael Wood as editor of the new publication. Mr. Wood joins CurtCo from Home Theater Magazine, where he served as senior technical editor. Previously, Mr. Wood was editor of both Home Theater Buyer's Guide and Home Theater Interiors magazines. Mr. Wood will report to Editor-in-Chief Brent Butterworth, who guides the content of Digital TV and Robb Report Home Entertainment & Design. Mark Mendelsohn, will act as Group Publisher of both titles as well.

Establishment of Digital TV follows CurtCo Media's launch last year of Robb Report Home Entertainment & Design, a luxury lifestyle publication dedicated to exceptional home theaters, home automation systems, architecture and interior design. CurtCo Media is operated by CurtCo Media Labs. CurtCo maintains offices in Malibu, New York City and Boston.
