Nanoparticles Application Center to Launch NanoExpress

Posted on October 31, 2003

Nanoparticles Applications Center, a center within The Institute for Environmental and Industrial Science (IEIS) at Texas State University - San Marcos, has announced the launch of NanoExpress, a new publication devoted to providing information on technological advances, applications, and business news to nanotechnology professionals. NanoExpress will launch as an online publication at www.txstate.edu/nac, and is slated for print publication in the first quarter of 2004. NanoExpress magazine will publish monthly.

NanoExpress has an exclusive agreement with EExpress, a bimonthly Japanese print publication dedicated to sophisticated technologies. The publisher, Dr. Zvi Yaniv, is working directly with scientists and experts who will provide commentary and input regarding nanotechnology and its immediate applications and progress. The first issue profiles Ms. Tsui Nai Mei, IP Manager of Semiconductor Production Section of Motorola, as interviewed by Mr. Noburo Kameya, contributing editor. Also, included in the first issue is Dr. Yaniv's report on Austin's short-term commercialization opportunities.

"My experience and research pointed to a clear demand by nanotechnology professionals at all levels for a publication with a fastidious approach to covering the role of nanotechnology as it relates to our society today," said Dr. Zvi Yaniv, publisher of the new magazine. "NanoExpress is the only magazine that avoids the futuristic perspective employed by many publications in favor of a down-to-earth approach to topics like the commercialization of nanotechnology, business applications, and wealth creation."

Nanoparticles Application Center (NAC), a center within The Institute for Environmental and Industrial Science (IEIS) at Texas State University - San Marcos, works to advance the role of nanotechnology in science, technology, industry, the economy, and society throughout Texas and the nation. It achieves this by fostering collaborations between industry, entrepreneurs, technology organizations, and academic institutions. The members of NAC combine their resources into directed research projects that promise near-term application in industry or commercialization.
