Posted on October 31, 2003

Transmit, a glossy, four-color monthly magazine that explores how engineering and technology impact today's cable TV systems, will publish its inaugural edition at The 2003 Western Show. Transmit's editorial mission focuses on helping cable operators deploy technology to increase their business.

Transmit's first edition will spotlight, among other issues, the next wave of broadband growth; interactive TV and its place in tomorrow's programming mix; VoIP and how big a business it may or may not be for cable; and how MSO marketing initiatives can use new technologies to sign up new subscribers and generate more sources of revenue. The premier issue also will feature a number of prominent columnists, including Bruce Leichtman of the Leichtman Research Group; former Jones Intercable executive and competitive intelligence expert Kim Dority; Prof. Ron Rizzuto of the University of Denver's telecommunications department; interactive TV and new media expert Ken Freed; and cable industry writer and editor Stewart Schley.

"In today's competitive environment, cable operators of all sizes must be knowledgeable about the benefits and ROI of the latest technologies being developed in all sectors," said Transmit's Editor Bob Diddlebock. "Transmit will offer fresh, insightful views to cable operators at all levels to help them understand the true impact that those new technologies can have on their business and their bottom line."

Transmit's editor, Bob Diddlebock, counts more than 20 years' editorial experience as an editor, writer and business analyst. He was the editor of Cable World in the 1990s, as well as the director of editorial operations at Transmedia Partners, which published International Cable and Communications Technology.

Transmit's founding publisher, Paul Levine, brings more than 30 years of publishing experience in the consumer, cable and broadcast TV industries. Publications he has founded include Communications Technology, International Cable as well as co-founding CableFAX Daily. Levine has also served as publisher for several leading edge publications that include Bounce, Cablevision, CED, CableFile Directory as well as Colorado Business and Mexicana Airlines.
