HorsePeople Magazine Debuts

HorsePeople, a magazine focused on the people, celebrities and equine athletes who love horses, will launch its debut issue in March. The cover story for the debut issue features Richard Spooner, the Los Angeles-based hunter/jumper star who recently swept the desert horse shows in Indio. HorsePeople, in a 10 x 12, full-color format, will be distributed to horse enthusiasts of all disciplines, including English, Western and the racing establishment.

HorsePeople will initially reach 50,000 readers in Southern California through requested and subscription circulation. HorsePeople recipients are homeowners living in homes valued at $750,000 or more in Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange, Ventura, Riverside, San Bernardino and Santa Barbara counties. Advertisers include luxury goods manufacturers, truck/auto manufacturers, home improvement and lifestyle product marketers.

"HorsePeople differs from many of the fine horse publications geared to horse owners," said publisher John Lockhart, who also owns a horse lay-up facility called Goodenough Farms Horse Spa. "We focus on the people who love horses, not so much on the horses. Our photographers show their subjects up close and personal, and our writers go deep with provocative articles about the many intriguing people you find at the barns, stables, race tracks and show arenas in California."
