Friday, March 5, 2004 Lord of the Rings Ties Oscar Record Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King dominated the Oscar awards celebration winning eleven awards including Best Film and Best Director. This tied the record for most Oscars set by Ben-Hur (1959) and The Titanic (1997). The Media Cynic provides some of the highlights from the televised awards show.
