New Magazine Focuses on Temporary/Contract Staffing

Posted on March 26, 2004

Contingent Workforce Strategies is a new magazine designed to serve as a resource for executives who use or may in the future use temporary/contract workers as part of their overall workforce/staffing strategy. The glossy, full-color magazine features interviews with key thinkers and corporate leaders as well as offers case studies and reports of best practices, strategies, tools, analyses, metrics, and new research exploring the effective use of a contingent workforce. The March, 2004 inaugural issue was mailed to a controlled circulation of 15,000 qualified readers, senior executives as well as managers responsible for using, managing, or procuring contingent/temporary staff.

"This is the first and only magazine focused exclusively on the use of contract and temporary staffing," said Publisher Ron Mester. "With the window of post-recession growth of temporary/contract staffing rapidly opening, we believe it not only contains important information for readers but also serves as a valuable new vehicle for advertisers."

Contingent Workforce Strategies is produced by a veteran editorial team led by Managing Editor Alan S. Kay. The magazine is the latest publication from Staffing Industry Analysts, Inc., a provider of business intelligence, market data, news, and analysis related to contingent staffing. The company, which was founded in 1989, is privately held and located in Los Altos, CA.

"During the last decade, organizations responded to business pressure and greatly expanded their contingent workforces, though often without much planning and thought," said Barry Asin, Chief Industry Analyst of Staffing Industry Analysts, Inc. "As spending has soared, contingent work has become a more strategic issue, with C-level executives increasingly asking tough questions about contingent strategy, ROI and metrics."
