The publisher of Texas Lawyer, has announced the launch of the only statewide business publication in Texas, Executive Legal Adviser, a new quarterly magazine exploring legal issues affecting Lone Star business executives. Written and edited by the staff of Texas Lawyer, with contributions from some of the top business attorneys in the state, Executive Legal Adviser analyzes key legal issues in layman's terms. The premier issue addresses topics including management of high-profile corporate lawsuits, corporate obligations when employees in the military return to work and tips for hiring outside counsel.

The new magazine will host a launch event on June 10 at the Magnolia Hotel in downtown Houston. The half-day seminar will focus on balancing corporate integrity with profitability and will feature open discussion between local c-level executives and Sherron S. Watkins, the former vice president of Enron who alerted Ken Lay to accounting irregularities within the company.

"Many of the business leaders we talk to, particularly those with public companies, have found themselves in a dangerous situation, caught between shareholders demanding value and an increasingly difficult-to-follow maze of new legal regulations and requirements," says Texas Lawyer publisher Mike Orren. "Some are even thinking of leaving their positions because of the legal dangers and liabilities. Executive Legal Adviser is designed to keep them in the game."

In addition to articles dealing with timely legal matters, each issue of Executive Legal Adviser will include:
