New Family Magazine Debuts in the Hamptons

Posted on June 4, 2004

Hampton Family Life, which launched over the Memorial Day weekend, is a new, upscale magazine geared to the fastest-growing demographic on the East End: the young, affluent family. Over the past decade, and particularly following 9/11, more and more young families are realizing their dreams for a quality lifestyle and calling the Hamptons their home. Hampton Family Life aims to bring to life the experience of living and raising children on the East End.

Published bi-monthly, each glossy, oversized issue of Hampton Family Life will feature lush photography and a mix of tools, information and resources to help its readers lead a more rewarding life. Free circulation of 30,000 copies will be distributed to over 500 locations from Manorville to Montauk, plus New York City and the North Fork.

"Family culture is alive and flourishing in the Hamptons," said Tami Gross, editor-in-chief/publisher of Hampton Family Life. "The East End isn't only a summer camp for the rich and famous, it's fast becoming a year-round home for families who want a balanced, quality lifestyle. This has been a highly under-served group that until now has had to be incredibly resourceful, culling together bits of information from disparate sources. We hope HFL will make their busy lives a whole lot easier, and more enjoyable."

Editorial highlights from the premiere issue include information about fun things to do including an exclusive guide to family fun featuring where to play, learn and eat in the Hamptons; All for The Family -- a section offering information about local families and why they've made their Hamptons dream a reality; an interview with Men in Black director and North Haven resident Barry Sonnenfeld; an interview with Corcoran's CEO on Hampton real estate trends and where the good deals are; book and restaurant reviews and fresh summer looks for the whole family.

Hampton Family Life magazine is the brainchild of Tami Gross, a public relations executive who moved to Westhampton Beach full-time several years ago with her family. Robin Dolch, former founder and senior editor of Icon magazine, is the executive editor.
