Syllabus to Become Campus Technology Magazine

Posted on July 30, 2004

Syllabus Media Group, publisher of Syllabus magazine, announced at its annual education conference here this week that, commencing with its October 2004 issue, it will become Campus Technology. The redesigned publication will feature a new look and a new format to more closely reflect the depth and pervasiveness of computing in higher education.

"Campus Technology represents a bold new look, expanded coverage and a faster format reflective of the demands placed on the executive who makes the IT and communications purchasing decisions on campus," said Mark Sande, Publisher. "And the name change to Campus Technology is a logical progression for Syllabus, which has covered technology in higher education for 16 years," said Sande. "Our new magazine will uphold the Syllabus mission of serving as a complete resource for IT leaders -- administrative and academic -- in higher education."

Campus Technology will continue to provide coverage of specific technologies, their uses and implementations, in the higher ed environment. These include enterprise resource planning, e-learning and course management systems, presentation technologies, communications, portals, security solutions.

Crafting the voice of Campus Technology will be Editor-In-Chief Katherine Grayson, who is well-known for coverage of college and university business issues. "My goal," said Grayson, "is to provide a comprehensive forum for the best-of-breed solutions on campus. Campus Technology will be a beacon for what's next in the evolution of technology on campus."

Grayson comes to Campus Technology with more than a decade of editorial experience in B-to-B publishing, most recently, as editorial director for University Business. She has also served as editorial director for Primedia's Customer Support Management, and managing editor for Menswear Retailing. Campus Technology editorial staff will also include Mary Grush, Editor, Claudia Linh, Associate Editor, and Scott Rovin, Art Director.

Syllabus Media Group publishes Syllabus magazine and its related properties, including Syllabus News Update, Syllabus IT Trends and eLearning Dialogue newsletters, Syllabus.com and CampusTechnologymag.com websites, and produces Syllabus Conferences. Syllabus is a division of 101communications, whose portfolio includes magazines, conferences and websites.
