Posted on October 15, 2004

The Hayzlett Companies, Inc. a business development, marketing, and media company, has announced the acquisition of Graphic Communications World (The Green Sheet), a twice monthly, award-winning newsletter, from Quoin Communications, LLC, and Bill Esler. In addition to the Green Sheet, the acquisition includes select assets of Quoin Communications, including the Official Industry Meeting Calendar -- a reference of conferences, exhibitions, and workshops, and site licensing program for instant corporate access.

The sale closed September 20, with editor and publisher Bill Esler editing his final issue on October 1, 2004. The Hayzlett Companies will publish its first issue October 18, 2004, with Jeanette Clinkunbroomer serving as editor-in-chief.

"The Green Sheet has served executives for over 35 years, and I'm confident that Jeanette will continue to maintain the newsletter's unique role in the industry," said Bill Esler, outgoing editor and publisher. "Jeanette is one of the few industry journalists that I feel certain will carry The Green Sheet's editorial torch, and I wish her success in her new role."

Bill Esler will be returning to the Oakbrook, IL, offices of Reed Business Information, publishers of more than 130 business titles, including Converting and Packaging Digest, where he will succeed Roger Ynostroza as Editor-in-Chief of Graphic Arts Monthly. In addition, Roger will be promoted to Editorial Director, handling custom publishing and special projects.

Founded in 1968, the Graphic Communications World newsletter has been published twice monthly by Esler since its acquisition from John Werner in July of 2002 who purchased The Green Sheet from its founder Art Gardner in 1990. Graphic Communications World provides a continuous overview report of the transitions of technology in the graphic communications field, edited for senior industry executives, educators, and managers.

"I'm proud to carry on the tradition and maintain the style, tone, and attitude of the newsletter started by founder Art Gardner in 1968, continued by both John Werner and Bill Esler," said Jeanette Clinkunbroomer, Graphic Communications World's new editor-in-chief. "Bill has done an excellent job of expanding the newsletter's editorial coverage, as well as delivery modes -- his shoes will be hard to fill."

Jeanette Clinkunbroomer has worked as a writer in the printing industry for more than 20 years. She is a former editor of Instant & Small Commercial Printer, and for ten years edited the Print Business Register newsletter, later re-named Print Industry Insider. In addition, she regularly contributes feature articles to a number of industry publications, and writes a monthly column on paper for Printing News magazine. She lives and works in the Chicago area.
