PDV Communications Inc. has announced Advancing Suicide Prevention, a new strategic health policy magazine. The first issue of thes 36- page, full-color trade magazine will launch in 2005. PDV Communications Inc. is a Wisconsin-based magazine publisher in the mental health and social services arena. Six times a year, Advancing Suicide Prevention will present perspectives on science and policy on suicide prevention.

"The magazine fosters exchange of views across different fields in public, private and non-profit sectors," said Denise Pazur, senior editor. "It will be a provocative and powerful resource for anyone whose work or interests touch suicide and its prevention across all populations."

With a base controlled circulation of 20,000, Advancing Suicide Prevention will present a broad range of themes including the public health threat of suicide, women, male and youth populations, suicide among rural, elderly and diverse populations, and the risk of suicide to hospitals, clinicians, schools and more.

"We'll present provocative content on compelling topics at the forefront of suicide prevention. And we'll be drawing on the most potent and powerful voices to keep readers aware of issues they need to know about - and how to best apply them to their work," said Pazur. "We hold no single position or ideology, and we don't champion the interests of any one constituency. Instead we broker conversations, ask tough questions, and disseminate rigorous research -- in a reader-friendly way."
