T: Travel Launches to Replace The Sophisticated Traveler

Friday, March 25, 2005

The New York Times Magazine has announced the introduction of T: Travel, a new lifestyle travel publication. The first issue of T: Travel was published on Sunday, March 20 and featured cover photography by Raymond Meier. T: Travel will be published quarterly and replaces The Sophisticated Traveler.

"T: Travel has been designed as more of a lifestyle magazine for the well-traveled traveler who has a passion for visiting interesting and exotic destinations around the world and doing so in style," said Stefano Tonchi, style editor for The New York Times Magazine. "T: Travel features the latest fashions, what's best to take on trips, hot buys on the road, highlights of people who influence how and where we travel and much more."

"T: The New York Times Style Magazine" is a collection of magazines that showcases stylish living today and features the latest trends in men's and women's fashion, design, entertaining, lifestyle and travel. T is published 13 times per year as a complement to The New York Times Magazine and replaces The Magazine's "Part 2" publications. Journalists contributing to the pages of T include Suzy Menkes on fashion, Lynn Hirschberg on celebrity styles, Tyler Brule on design and Amanda Hesser on food and living, among others.

Each issue of T contains feature articles, photography and news columns such as:
  • "The Talk" -- a commentary on the latest jargon being used in the English language today, what it means and why it is relevant to our daily lives.
  • "The Get" -- a portfolio collection of the hottest new products to purchase, wear and collect.
  • "The Re-Mix" -- a series of articles that capture the questions posed and thinking behind the choices we make in our daily lives.
