Reader's Digest and Hasbro to Publish Tonka Books

Reader's Digest Children's Publishing has announced an agreement with the Hasbro Properties Group to publish and distribute books in the United States and Canada based on Hasbro's Tonka brand. The books will be available beginning in spring 2005. Since January 2002, Reader's Digest Children's Publishing has released a varied and diverse Hasbro publishing program featuring board books, novelty books and hardcover storybooks based on brands including Transformers and Mr. Potato Head.

"Hasbro's Tonka vehicles receive high marks from consumers all over the world," said Harold Clarke, President and Publisher, RD Books & Music for The Reader's Digest Association, Inc. "We have a longstanding relationship with Hasbro, and this is a perfect extension of that relationship and a strong addition to our catalog."

Reader's Digest Children's Books are distributed by Simon & Schuster. The following three Tonka titles will launch this new program in spring: Tonka Board Book: Busy Dump Truck, Tonka Board Book: Super Concrete Mixer and Tonka Sound Book: Construction Zone.
