IWJ Covers J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter

Friday, August 26, 2005

The latest issue of The Internet Writing Journal includes a feature about Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. The Harry Potter books have sold 270 million copies in 62 languages worldwide. The sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, sold 6.9 million copies in its first 24 hours of release and is the largest product debut ever on Amazon.com. J.K. Rowling is an enormous success today but her path to get there was not always an easy one. Claire E. White explores the life of J.K. Rowling in an exclusive feature called, "J.K. Rowling and the Extraordinary Life." This month's issue also includes a special Harry Potter links page created by the IWJ.

Articles in this month's issue include: "Rhyme and Reason: Part 4" by syndicated radio show host and CEO of CQK Music & Records, Mary Dawson; "The Road Not Taken" by Nancy Geary, author of Being Mrs. Alcott (Warner Books); and "Storytelling" by Robert Lacey, author of Great Tales From English History (Little, Brown). The issue also includes book reviews in several genres including children's, fantasy/SF, lifestyle, mystery/thriller, nonfiction and romance.

The IWJ website also includes a frequently updated weblog about books, journalism, publishing and writing. The IWJ has been online since 1997 and has interviewed many bestselling authors over the years including Dan Brown, Neil Gaiman, Marry Higgins Clark, Lawrence Block, Elizabeth Lowell, Janet Evanovich, Terry Pratchett and Nora Roberts. A complete list of past author interviews can be found at: http://www.internetwritingjournal.com/interviews/.
