American Baby Group Acquires Baby Faire Inc.

Primedia's American Baby Group has announced that it has aquired Baby Faire Inc., of Winchester, Mass., a consumer exposition for young families. The business was acquired from Kim Whittaker, who founded Baby Faire in 1992.

"The acquisition of the Baby Faire shows is another example of how at Primedia we are continuing to create exciting and innovative access for our advertisers to their key audiences," said Tom Rogers, chairman and chief executive officer of Primedia. "Primedia and one of our strong franchises - the American Baby Group - is also continuing to provide our customers with answers to their needs and wants through a variety of media."

Primedia's American Baby Group multimedia offerings include six magazines - American Baby, Healthy Kids, First Year of Life, Childbirth, Primeros 12 Meses and Healthy Kids en Espanol, two television shows, four sampling businesses, two websites and the newly-acquired Baby Faire shows. Primedia Inc. is a targeted media company with print, video and Internet businesses focused on consumer and business-to-business audiences.
