British Government Won't Seek Additional Powers to Shut Down Social Media

During the recent riots in London there was talk of the British government attempting to shut down social media. The British government reportedly held talks with executives from Facebook, Twitter and BlackBerry. Sky News says the government will not be seeking any additional powers to shut down social media. There was a great deal of criticism at the idea of restrictions. It a relief that no additional powers will be sought by the government. Take a look:
