Posted on August 26, 1997

Metro Marketing of Eagan, Minn., has been acquired by Cowles Media Company, it was jointly announced today. Terms were not disclosed. Under this agreement, Cowles Media Company acquired the 40-person direct-mail business and will operate it as a separate, free-standing unit. Gary Webb, president and founder of Metro Marketing, will continue to supervise their operations.

According to Star Tribune Publisher and President Joel Kramer, "The Metro Marketing acquisition provides new marketing tools we can offer customers throughout the Twin Cities to reach this and other markets."
